Hey! My name is Gwen, and I am an engineer turned middle-school math teacher turned full-time mom of two adorable little girls (a nine year old and a six year old). I met my husband just before I graduated from high school, and we have been together for 22 years (married for 15). He's my best friend. I still haven't figured out exactly what I want to do with my life, but I'm thrilled to have my husband, my daughters, and my blog readers along for the ride.
I love sewing, crafting, and just about everything creative. I am working on my photography skills, and I really want to sew a queen size quilt someday. I absolutely love fabric and paper. I have stashes of both that have never been touched because I don't want to cut into them. I am working on getting over this. I am also a major neat freak. Organizing and cleaning make me feel like I have some control over my crazy life, although I have been forced to learn to let a lot go ever since I had children.
The name of my blog "Gwenny Penny" comes from the nickname my aunts and uncles gave me as a kid growing up in Vermont. I don't hear that name much anymore now that I live in Connecticut, but when I was thinking up a name for this blog, it just kind of fit. If you'd like to read more about why I started this blog back in August of 2010, click here.
Thanks for stopping by and taking an interest in me and my blog. Please email me if you have any questions or comments... I'd love to hear from you.
