My baby is about to start solids so I was searching for baby placemats for her. :) I was wondering if there is a way to make the material wipeable rather than washable? I know there is that iron on stuff to make it more like vinyl ... do you have any experience with that? Other than that, I am really excited to try making this!
Melanie - I tend to stay away from the coated fabrics because I just don't know what is/isn't food-safe. I've heard good things about laminated cotton, though. Hope that helps :)
