A Go Anywhere Bag

When I shared the new 241 Tote that I made for my mother a few weeks ago, I mentioned that I was itching to try Anna's (Noodlehead) newest pattern, the Go Anywhere Bag. Guess what I made last weekend?

I've had this pattern for six weeks and spent five of them trying to pick out fabric. Does anyone else have that problem? I'm so afraid to commit to a fabric combination. I knew I wanted dark gray for the exterior pockets, but I couldn't find just the right print for the main body of the bag. I finally just decided to go with all solids for the exterior of the bag.

Then, as luck would have it, I came across the perfect coordinating fabric for the lining...

The exterior pocket on the back doesn't have the pleats that are on the divided pocket on the front of the bag. And it has a tiny magnetic snap to keep it closed...

I keep my wipes case, two diapers, and a Bapron back here. It's like having a separate little diaper bag compartment in my everyday bag. Love that!

There's one large pocket on the interior of the bag. I sewed a little pen sleeve into it, too.

This is Anna's third bag pattern, and I've tried all three (see my Runaround Bag here, and my 241 totes here and here). Her patterns are super easy to follow and have really detailed instructions. I've never hit a point in one of Anna's patterns where I got frustrated for lack of understanding... it's all spelled out for you. After making all three bags, my favorite is still the 241 Tote, but I do love the size and styling of the Go Anywhere Bag. All of the exterior pockets are so handy. I haven't "lost" anything in my bag since I started carrying this around. I've highly recommended all of Anna's patterns, and this one is no exception.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great Columbus Day weekend! And to my Canadian friends... Happy Thanksgiving!

Great bag! Love all those pocket it has. Makes me think if I should make it for my trip to the States. That way I have a place for all the small things I want to take with me.
Love the fabrics you used. Great choice. Yes, I have the problem too, to figure out what fabric to use.
Have a lovely Friday!

You say you haven't lost anything in your bag? I'm sold! I always have that problem - especially with pens! You separate pen section is brilliant! Oh, and I do love the colors and the fun interior fabric...great job.

Great choice to go with all solids for a change. I love how elegant that makes it look.

Anna must be so pleased with all your beautiful renderings of her patterns. I know I would be!!!

Thanks for giving us such good tips and ideas (note how I've linked thanks & giving?).

Happy Columbus Day (why does your nation celebrate a city in Ohio? lol I know, it's ol' Christopher Columbus who sailed the ocean blue in 1562 or 1492? 1962? Anyone remember the rhyme without looking it up?).
