Meet Niblet

I hope everyone had a great weekend. I just had one of the most relaxing weekends I have had in a long time. My husband and I actually got a night (overnight!) away from the girls to take in a Red Sox/Yankees game up in Boston. I slept until 9:15 Sunday morning! This was the first time we had ever left our youngest overnight, and she was absolutely fine. Thanks to my sister and her family for watching the girls!

Wait... it gets better! On Sunday afternoon, my husband took the girls grocery shopping AND cooked dinner, so I got several hours to sew. Since I had a good chunk of time to work on a project, I made something that I have been sketching and planning for several months. Say hello to Niblet...

Isn't she cute?! She's named after our furry family member. Hopefully she isn't as big of a pain as our cat, whose sole purpose in life is to torment me.

She's made out of flannel, so she's nice and soft. Her pink body is cotton, her eyes and inner ears are felt, and her nose and mouth are embroidered.

She looked a little plain, so I decided to make her a little skirt and a flower for her ear.

She stands about 7 inches tall from her toes to the tips of her ears.

I love that sweet little face. And guess what... there will be a tutorial coming very soon the tutorial is HERE if you'd like to make one, too! She would make a great gift for a little girl (or boy if you make some pants) or a baby shower. The holidays will be here before you know it! I plan on making a few of these as gifts. My three year old has laid claim to this one, but I'm going to be making a friend for Niblet for my eight month old. I'm going to change it up a little bit, though... you'll have to wait for the tutorial to see what I'm planning!
